Snatched: The Return of The Bandage Dress

Hey Dolls,

There's a new Gen Z trend and it's a sexy little number. Super popular for it's flattering fit, The Bodycon dress, is the be all, end all in snatched silhouette dresses for the fashion girlies. It's like a Skim but in dress form. If you're a milliennial this lifesaver is called a bandage dress. Herve Leger popularized the dress in the early 2000's. Whether you needed a sexy little happy hour dress or a formal gown for a gala this figure flattering dress was THE DRESS! Now it's back with a vegengance blessing our figures once more. So, let's break this trend down and discuss all the details and styling possibilities.

The first up is the hottest lbd. That means little bodycon dress! There's only one thing on the menu with a mini bodycon dress and that's Coke, bottle shape. This dress only serves one vibe spicy little minx! Pairing it with tights and going long sleeve will dial down the heat but not by much. You add a chic silk head scarf or a super sleek pony for a coquettish touch but this is always going to be hot as the deserts of Dubai on a summer day.

Midlength bodycon dresses are the most parred back of the 3 options. These are great for a formal dinner, work or literally anywhere you can get a little sassy but can't go all the way! Grab a cute pair of pointed toe shoes and you're golden babydoll! Add a blazer and you'll be office chic, chic! Midlength bodycon dresses have the most range. The classic v-neck spaghetti strap bodycon is the starter dress and a classic. Don't go all nostaglic with a oversized chunky necklace. Instead channel your inner Aubrey Hepburn with some pearls or a simple chain of diamonds. The midlength bodycon is a class lady.

When you think full length, the first thing that crosses your mind is formal but that's not necessarily the case. Formal is an option and it's going to give Jessica Rabbit. But it's not the only option. Creative fabric choices like terry and poly blends lend themselves to a less formal look. Think more like snatched sundress and less like Cardi B Halloween. Bodycon dresses are all about the va va voom so when styling just know the curves will be carrying the conversation, so let the accessories whisper. Minimal is the name of the game.

Bodycon dresses have had us in their hold (no pun intended) since their introduction in the early 90's. As we all know the rules are the baseline and there are really no rules in fashion. But there is one hard and fast rule for bodycons, ABSULUTELY UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE ARE THERE TO BE ANY PANTYLINES! Some other key notes of caution are, make sure the fit is SPOT ON! Too small and we're a bursted can of biscuits. Too large and we miss out on all of the body contouring benefits. Don't overdo it! Unless, it's your jam. But remember, these are statement dresses. So, no need for statement anything else. As with any look you're pulling keep venue at top of mind. Understanding and aceing the assignment is the goal.

I think it's pretty obvious we are in love with the bodycon resurgance. But we need to know how you feel dolls, how do you feel? Are you excited? Do you love the idea of strutting around in a form flattering dress or are you more of a flow and go girlie? Join the conversation below or on youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjwkWkCMKs0
